Hi Raptive,
Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about how to make the most of the time and energy I put into creating content for my own site. I know many of you are doing the same, while also navigating infinite change in our industry.
Something I’ve been experimenting with lately is asking my audience what they’d actually want to see or buy from me. Their answers sparked ideas I hadn’t considered, so I thought maybe it might do the same for you.
Here are a few simple ways to listen to your audience and figure out what people really want. It doesn’t necessarily require any big fancy tools, either!
•
Ask your audience directly. Run a quick poll or send a short survey to your email list or social channels. Ask what kinds of products they’d actually buy, or share a list of ideas and let them vote.
•
Dig into top-performing content. Identify your highest-traffic posts, most-watched videos, or most-saved Pins. These are natural launchpads for product ideas your audience is already interested in.
•
Listen and leverage questions. Keep a running list of recurring questions from comments, DMs, or emails. If people keep asking about something, that’s a signal they’d pay for a solution.
•
Test interest with a freebie. Create a simple lead magnet (like a checklist, workbook, or email challenge) that’s connected to your product idea.
•
Ask for direct feedback. Share your idea with your audience before building it. A waitlist or even a discounted pre-sale can quickly validate demand.
•
Study your niche. Look at what’s selling in your space and find gaps where your unique expertise could stand out.
If you try any of these tips, whether they work or not, I’d love to hear about it! Just hit reply and tell me more.

Quick tip
Your About page matters more than you think
“Your About page is a brand tool that can help you introduce yourself authentically to new audiences and potential brand or press partners. Lead with a clear, engaging hook that says what you do and who it’s for, then back it up with proof like press and reader testimonials. Show you’re a real person with on-brand tone in your copy and up-to-date photos of you in your element. Finally, make it easy for readers (along with the media and potential partners) to get in touch with you.”
