Raptive News
SEPTEMBER 10, 2025
By Emily Rose
VP, Creator Marketing & Education
Hi Raptive,
At Raptive, our AI advocacy always starts with one goal: protecting your work. From launching the
Keep it real campaign to creating stronger
Terms of Content Use to blocking AI crawlers
in partnership with Cloudflare,
these early steps send a clear message—your content belongs to you. If someone, or some bot, wants to use it, they need your consent.
Some of this work makes headlines. Some is quieter—a steady drumbeat shaping a future where AI systems credit and compensate you for your work. All are critical for real, lasting change.
Today, we’re proud to share two updates in that fight:
•
A new partnership with ProRata, helping independent creators and publishers benefit from the growing LLM ecosystem
•
Our involvement with Real Simple Licensing (RSL), which sets new standards for licensing permissions and recurring income for creators
Keep reading to learn how these updates are two more crucial drumbeats that help us build a better future where you always have control over your work.
What’s new
Building a fair model for AI content use with ProRata
Our new partnership with ProRata, a company building monetization and attribution infrastructure for AI, aims to deliver fair solutions for credit and compensation across the industry.
ProRata’s flagship product, Gist, highlights something other AI search platforms don’t. It shows exactly where answers come from, attributes content proportionally, and shares ad revenue with the creators behind it.
We’re proud to explore a model together that proves it’s possible—and practical—for AI to respect creators’ rights and pay them for their
work. This work will lay the foundation to benefit all creators and publishers and unlock a more sustainable future for all.

How Really Simple Licensing (RSL) sets a new standard for creator protections
We’re also proud to help shape Really Simple Licensing (RSL), a new open standard designed to define content rights and
licensing terms for the internet. Developed by the team behind RSS, RSL helps publishers and creators authenticate AI crawlers, set clear licensing permissions, and create a pathway for recurring income—similar to how music royalties ensure artists get paid for every stream.
Read more about our role in the RSL Internet Collective and how we will help shape priorities around negotiations, royalties, and regulations so creators’ voices are heard and continue to thrive.

The simple date change that boosts SEO and clicks
If your pages still show a publish date and an updated date, you could be making your content look older than it is in search results. That small detail can cost you
clicks—and traffic.
Enter: one-date logic! Our guide explains why showing only the most
recent update date is a simple but powerful way to:
Signal freshness to readers and search engines
Improve click-through rates from search
Keep your content performing at its best
