Hi Raptive,
You own your content—and that’s more important than ever. As platforms shift and AI continues to reshape the digital world, staying informed and in control is key.
This week’s newsletter helps you do just that—with new protections for your site, smart social tools, and expert tips to keep your content doing what it’s meant to do: connecting with readers, answering their questions, and making a real impact.
Here’s what you’ll find inside:

A new layer of protection to safeguard your content

Best practices for auto-DM tools to drive search traffic and email sign-ups
•
Google Discover optimization tips and an invitation to our webinar on July 30
•
And the Question of the week—we always love hearing from you!
What’s new
New site terms to help protect your content ownership
As shared in yesterday’s email, we’re rolling out a new layer of protection for your content—one that strengthens your rights and reinforces your ownership as platforms evolve.
Starting on Friday, August 1, Raptive will automatically add a link to a new Terms of Content Use in the footer of your site. These terms are designed to clearly state that your content is your property and shouldn’t be copied, republished, or scraped without permission.
You can opt out anytime before Friday, August 1 in your dashboard under Ad Preferences. If you have questions about the new Terms of Content Use and what they mean for your business, visit our FAQ in the Help Center.
This is one step toward a more sustainable, creator-first future and sends the clear message that it’s not OK for big tech or AI companies to take your content without permission.

Quick tip
Show up in Google Discover with these best practices
“To
boost visibility in Google Discover, publish fresh content weekly using high-quality, horizontal images that are at least 1,200 pixels wide, paired with curiosity-driven headlines. Discover favors new, visually rich posts that hook readers fast—most clicks happen within the first three days—so make sure your headlines spark interest and your intros deliver value right away.”

We’re leading the conversation and making headlines
“I think it will just incentivize the AI companies to crawl far less, which is sort of a good outcome, but doesn’t really solve the actual problem.”
Paul Bannister, Chief Strategy Officer
Paul was featured in Digiday (gated), discussing why he (and others) are skeptical of pay-per-crawl models. A pay-per-query or pay-per-inference model is more attractive, he says, but only if it includes proper attribution for publishers and creators.
“When Google says, you can block [its AI scraping bot], and it won’t harm your search rankings, there’s not a lot of confidence or faith that that’s actually the case.”
Tom Critchlow, EVP, Audience Growth
Tom told The Information that Google’s lack of transparency around AI scraping and its impact on search traffic is eroding publisher and creator trust.
